MODIFICATION OF PLANT VEGETABLE PLANT MEDICINE

Ordinary vegetable crops are planted on soil with large areas. Limited land becomes an obstacle in implementing the cultivation of plants. Along with the development of technology, humans cultivate crops with various media on a limited planting place. Efforts are in the form of modification of planting containers and planting media. Modification of planting medium is done by altering part or all of it, combining, and mixing planting medium with certain composition. the techniques currently used in modifying the type of planting medium one example is hydroponic techniques and modification of planting container one of them is vertikultur. Planting media is a very important component in the cultivation of plants. plant growth is influenced by planting media because the planting medium has a role to support upright plant growth, providing oxygen, water and nutrient. Plant media commonly used is the soil.

To get a good planting media and appropriate plant types in planting to know the characteristics of each type of planting media. Based on the type of constituent material, planting medium can be divided into organic and inorganic materials. Organic planting media comes from the components of living things, such as parts of plants (leaves, stems, flowers, fruit or bark). The use of organic material has advantages because it is able to provide nutrients for plants, produce good air circulation, and have high water absorption type of organic material that can be used as a medium for planting, charcoal, fern, compost, moss, coconut husk, rice husk and humus. Organic matter comes from material weathering process. Organic materials can also be derived from synthetic or chemical materials. Inorganic media which often used as planting medium is hydrogel, sand, gravel, broken brick, sponge, clay, zeolite, vermiculite, perlite.

1. MODIFICATION OF PLANT MEDIA

Limitations of soil cropping media do not become an obstacle to trying to do vegetable cultivation, things that need to be considered adalh modification techniques planting media. Each stage should be done well and appropriately.

Hydroponics is one of the soil cultivation technology with controlled plant nutrients. Hydroponics can be done with planting medium. Planting media that can be used for hydroponics include coconut husks, fibers, gravel, charcoal, zeloit, and water. Hydroponic techniques can be applied in restricted land areas.

The following materials, tools, and hydroponics techniques are simple Materials and tools:

 a. Vegetable Seeds
 b. Hydroponics nutrition
c. Sterilized planting media by soaking boiling water
d. Place nursery
e. Media container
f. Nutrient solution containers

Hydroponic culture typics:

1.) Seedling Nurseries can be done directly or through a nursery. nurseries can use sand and rockwool planting media.

2.) Preparation of nutrient solution Nutritional solution is the main source of nutrient supply of plants. Nutritional solutions can be given in puddles or flows.

3.) Planting Move the plant from the seedbed to a container that has been filled with sterile media. Plants that do not need sowing can be directly planted in the planting container.

4.) Treatment At the beginning of planting, store the plants in areas that are not exposed to direct sunlight. After 1-2 weeks the plants can be transferred in areas with direct sunlight of nutrients added regularly and according to the needs of the plant.

5.) Harvest Harvesting must be done carefully so as not to disrupt the next production.

2. MODIFIKAI CONTAINER OF PLANT

Planting containers are a limited place to store media and nutrients for plants. Many types of containers can be used as containers for planting. The ideal planting container is a durable, durable container, able to excess water, mild, and attractive. Common containers in use are earthen pots, cement pots, polybags, pipes, guttering, and various containers that can hold media and nutrients for plants. and various used goods such as cans and plastic packaging. things to watch out for when planting crops on containers is the availability of adequate nutrients and the conditioning of optium so that plants can grow well. vertikultur is an agricultural cultivation technique that is done vertically or stratified, both in indoor and outdoor areas. Vegetable plants that are commonly cultivated vertically are lettuce, kale, spinach, pakcoy, and caisim. The models and types of verticulture containers vary widely, generally in a stair-like shape with multiple steps or a number of shelves, materials may be bamboo or paralon pipes, even used cans.
